It's been a decent day...
Try this chord progression C major to F# major. I think it's pretty cool, but that's just me.
Also... Do you feel the desire to record your music. Check out Audacity. It's a free recording software you can download from the internet. It's pretty user friendly and the more you use it the more you will understand it.
I like this "scale" C C# D# E F F# Bb B.

May Melody Keep You Alive! Singing Trough The Tide!
So the St. Cloud Library rejected the idea of me playing a concert there. I was pretty upset but I brain stormed a while and decided to do a concert at the "skate park" by my St. Cloud appartment. Just gotta scout things out to find power outlets. Feeling better about music too. I jammed on keys earlier and just played through my tricks and ideas an came up with a new one... I use my right hand for this melody, use any bass progression you want:

Hello Again
LISTENING
I listened to Bruce Cockburn this morning and I liked his stuff. He's an artist I haven't listened to that much but I'll have to listen to him more often.
Mike Oldfield's songs Shadow On The Wall and Platinum are really cool.
If you like punk music I recomend Arctic Monkeys... Just don't expect anything too complex.
Alice Cooper is great. If you want to hear some of the more modern sounding Alice Cooper I recomend the Sony Super Hits Album.
System Of A Down is always interesting. Soldier Side is a great song.
Beck's song Rental Car is a cool one.
PLAYING
Here's a trick!! cross your highstrings on the nut of the guitar to make it sound like a bell.
Another trick. If you happen to own a kalimba you press it to and acoustic guitar to make it lowder.
This "scale" is inspired by my impression of Rock 'n' Roll And Blues.

Technically the second one is not a major seven chord because there is no major third. But it works...
Technique:
Two things I like to do is play power chords with the lower strings and play the higher strings open and ocasionally fret the high E, B, and G strings in random places.
I also like to play two music with "drone tones" (tones that remain the same throughout the song)
