Tabloid Magazine (The Living End)

Blargee-Blar-Har!

So yeah I had one of those "aha" moments this morning when I decided to take an evil sounding track I recorded a few months ago and add a rap to it.  The evil sounding track I am talking about was part of an unfinished project called "Bowser" in honor of the 64 bit KING KOOPA!  I may need to tweak some of the clips but it sounds good.  My homies like it.

Gotham City Police, one of my bands, had it's first recording session recently.  We jammed out some pretty organized chaos.  I plan on recording just my band mate so I can use the material later.

Compromise...  I had some thoughts recently.  I wanted to steer band-songs in a specific direction.  I had the realization that I can do that to some extent.  However, it is important to listen to my band-mates and ask them about their ideas, give them influence to.  For instance I have a song that's about a century old and never recorded called "Impossible Words"  I wanted it to be all deep and thoughtful, but Tim wanted it to be weird and funny.  The best direction to go, I think is to do the song with both aspects, thoughtfulness and humor.  Me and Tim will get around to recording that bad boy one of these days.

Love the Earth.  Happy trails.

Impossible Words

Got a job at Walmart and it's going pretty good.  I get along with everyone there and I'm getting used to the work.  I bought a long board, socks, and a Spongebob DVD collection there today.  No work today YAY!

Psychodelix is working on a rap right now.  I've been recording a rap part as well as hype vocals.  One example is: Psychodeelio and that's fo' realio!  I love the way that sounds so I hope we use it.

I do NOT own a drum set.  What I DO own is a drum machine, a drum synthesizer, congas 'n' bongos, toy drum synthesizers and a drum from the Dominican Republic.  It works...  and in a way it is probably good that I have to stick to these other forms of percussion.  It takes drumming in a different direction. Still, some day I'm getting a real drum set.

A friend of mine is spending the night today.  It's gunna be awesome.  I haven't played video games in a while but I bet I'll get a healthy serving of gaming this evening. :)

Didgeridoo Dubstep

Cardiac Kid

Metronome!

Give our new song a listen!

Walls Of Paper

I just finnished a song called Walls Of Paper and re-recorded the song Trapped In A Pill.  My dad got me a condenser microphone so the recording quality is great.  I highly recomend condenser mics.  I went through my external hard drive and found a whole bunch my older recordings.  I even found a sweet one of a jam session with me and Rick.  It is a good idea to save your stuff, even the recordings you don't like that much because you might listen to it a year or two later and really like it.

Walls of paper was like that for me.  I pulled out this electric guitar recording and found three clips of the track I really liked then I built a song around those three clips.  It turned out really good and quite psychedelic.

We had a serious bee infestation at Main Sail, but I think that problem is over or soon will be as the season changes.  I've been enjoying the music of Queens of the Stone Age lately.  Peace.

Ghostbusters

http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/m/misc_soundtrack/ghostbusters_theme_tab.htm

I recorded a new song called T Rex (Mr. Ziemer's Song).  It is a mellow song about an English teacher I had in middle school.

I've been playing moncola and chess at Main Sail and that's been fun.
I have been watching the TV show Mork And Mindy in the evenings and enjoying Robin Williams.

Many of my friends are off to college again.

I am currently working on a video game themed grunge song.  I don't have many people to jam with so I am mostly recording tracks all by myself.  When I got enough exquisite songs ready I plan to release an album.  A real one this time!  Not just a promo-CD.  Cover art, labled CD, case, track list,  The works.

Keep your stick on the ice.

PROBOT

Psychodelix meets Mostly Harmless

Yesterday I had a jam session with Lonely Boy Rigbee and Moxxie Anderchild.  We busted some epic disco.  My favorite part was probably playing over Moxxies insane shredding with my messed up guitar.  It is a fun guitar to use because all the strings are in the rong places!

That was the first time the two of them met each other.  Mark was pretty happy about having an extra person for our jam sessions and Rigbee was excited to be a part of Psychodelix.

I have been able to record at Main Sail and finnished a rap, a prototype version of Jazz Commet.  I recently put a song on my reverbnation page called Trapped In A Pill.  My father has likened the song to an acid trip, but he really enjoyed it.  Strange lyrics...

Life is good.  I have been disc golfing. Also, I recently bought a portable plastic bowling kit from a garage sale.  Saw some of my Paynesville homies and they liked seeing me and listening to my new stuff on I-phone.

I've been playing retro video games, like Atari's "Black Widdow" lately.  There is a game called Asteroids Delux and one called Super Pac Man that are pretty fun.  I introduced a card game version of Mario Party to the staff at my group home and they enjoyed it.

Rock on and God bless!

Main Sail

Me (Donald Neu) and Mark Anderson just recorded a song called Metranome.  Check it out on our website: http://www.reverbnation.com/psychodelix

I have moved into a group home called Main Sail and it is going well.  We are going bowling today. We often go to the park or go swimming at the Monticello Community Center.  I get along well with everyone hear and have continued playing keyboard and writing guitar riffs.  Next month we are going to Vally Fair.  It's going to be really fun.

Okay so there it is in numbers.
Lets take a look at it in notes:

E B E B  8va  E B E B F F Eb Eb Gb D C# A F# Db F# B C F Bb E E E B G E E E B G
E E AA B B A A Eb F

aurg.  something like that.

I have the whole thing written out in my note book and translated into notes and it wasn't easy.
It's often a trick to figure out just what notes your playing when you write out a tab.

Well it's coming along.  And I am pretty note savy so I DO find my way around.

In other news:
I have started learning JavaScript from a for dummies book and should be able to do some website stuff.  Should be good.

Positive Book Review For: COSMIC LAUGHTER

COSMIC LAUGHTER was a Science Fiction novel published by Joe Haldeman back in 1974 and a really really good read.  I urge anyone with a library card or money to get a copy of this FIVE STAR novel.

You will laugh your butt off!  Maybe not litterally but you see what I mean...
